Engraved Greek Key Pattern Shade

Some may prefer this shade due to the extra depth that is created when light is refracted by the shade. Originating in 18th-century Europe, this double-pointed, boat-shaped silhouette is historically derived from the French navette cut (“little boat”) and the famous Marquise cut popularized during the reign of King Louis XV. The sharp upper and lower tapered points, combined with a diamond-faceted pattern, were intentionally designed to capture light from nearby candles or lamps and draw the eye vertically along the drop’s axis. Widely used throughout the Georgian, Victorian, and Art Deco eras, these drops are staple accents on classic French Empire chandeliers, wall sconces, and table candelabras—often strung together in cascading chains or suspended as feature drops.

Enquire about this itemKnob Drop also known as an Hourglass Prism, emerging during the late 18th century and reaching peak popularity in Victorian and Edwardian lighting, knob drops feature a distinctive waist or cinched “neck” separating a small top cap from a plump, heavy faceted bulb base.
Crafted through precision lapidary cutting, the multi-faceted, teardrop-to-hourglass silhouette was engineered to maximize light collection in three dimensions, catching candlelight from surrounding tiers and scattering bright, multi-directional flashes.
