An impressive Perry style chandelier arranged on two tiers with 8 hollow rope twist kick arms on the upper tier and 8 hollow rope twist S arms on the lower. The central crystal stem pieces, receiver bowls and bottom canopy are all cut using a traditional Perry style called ‘step’ or ‘brick’ cutting. The top receiver bowl displays 8 solid rope twist crooks with double row of swagged dressings attached to them. All metalwork finished in silver plate.
The Empire period (1795 & 1830) in France coincided approximately with England Regency period. The Empire style featured fine quality brass and bronze castings finished in gilt and contrasting black. This example has 8 lights.
